Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University
Collaborated with the university's mechanical engineering department to design a multi-process generative manufacturing framework. Developed hybrid slicing logic and real-time machine vision integration for multi-material digital fabrication. Demonstrated functional prototypes including a camera module, mechanical linkage, and dental simulation tool. Digital fabrication has advanced prototyping and manufacturing through additive, subtractive, and hybrid processes, however existing platforms remain constrained to a single method, limiting the creation of multifunctional and high-performance parts. To overcome this limitation, we introduce extended deposition modeling (XDM), a unified manufacturing framework that advances the paradigm of generative manufacturing by tightly integrating computational design exploration with adaptive multi-process fabrication. XDM incorporates additive, formative, and assembly methods into a coordinated workflow, enabling intelligent process selection, sequencing, and real-time adaptation. Case studies, including a functional camera module, a reinforced mechanical linkage, and a conceptual dental simulation tool, demonstrate XDM's ability to achieve precise integration, enhanced stiffness, vibration damping, and user-specific customization.
